Account
Delete your account
You can delete your Daynote account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent: there is no waiting period and nothing to undo.
Delete it in the app
- On a PC or Mac: open the account panel, then choose Delete account.
- On iPhone or Android: open Settings, tap the account card, then tap Delete account.
You have to be signed in on that device. If you are asked to confirm, the account is gone the moment you do.
What is deleted
Everything the Daynote service holds for your account, from the service itself, straight away:
- the account: your Google or Apple account id and the email address that came with it;
- every synced note, to-do, tag, and favorite;
- every synced image and file, and the storage they occupied;
- every sign-in session, so every device you were signed in on is signed out.
If you have a Pro subscription, it is cancelled as part of the deletion, so it will not renew. If the service cannot cancel it for you, the app says so and nothing is deleted until you cancel it yourself (from Manage subscription, or the link in the receipt Paddle emailed you). If you signed in with Apple, Daynote also tells Apple to revoke its access.
What is not deleted
- The notes on your own devices stay there. Daynote keeps its notes on each device and syncing only copies them between devices, so deleting the account removes the cloud copy, not the copy on your PC or phone. To remove those as well, delete the app's data on each device (the privacy policy says where it lives).
- Payment records. Paddle, our merchant of record, keeps its invoices and receipts as the law requires. Our own record of a payment keeps its date and type, but no longer anything that links it to your account.
Can't open the app?
Email aracube@gmail.com from the address your account uses (it is shown in the app's account panel), and say that you want the account deleted. We delete it and reply to confirm, within 3 business days. If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, write from any address and tell us roughly when you signed up; we will ask for what we need to find the account, and never for your notes.
