Common questions
- What is the difference between Pro and Premium?
- Storage, and nothing else. Both sync images and files across every device; Pro includes 2 GB per account and Premium is unlimited. Unlimited is provided within fair use (Section 5 of the terms), at a level that attaching files to your own notes will not reach. The largest single file is the same on both.
- Where is the line between free and a subscription?
- Text is entirely free: note bodies, titles, to-dos, tags, and favorites stay in step across every device in real time. A subscription (Pro or Premium) is needed for the images you paste into a body and the attachments in the Files tab to open on your other devices. Without one those files live only on the PC that saved them, and their body links show as "not on this device" elsewhere.
- Is there any difference between monthly and annual?
- Only the price and the billing cycle. Annual is 33% cheaper; monthly can be stopped from next month.
- Which devices can I use it on?
- Today, the Windows app. Mac, iPhone, and Android apps are in the works and will be covered by the same subscription at no extra cost. There is no device limit.
- Who processes the payment?
- Paddle, as Merchant of Record. Paddle issues the receipt and handles tax; Daynote never receives your card details.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- Only image and file sync stops. Notes keep syncing, no card is on file so nothing is charged, and both the files on your PC and the copy already uploaded stay put.
- Does cancelling delete my notes or files?
- No. Cancelling only prevents the next renewal, and file sync continues until the period you paid for ends. Note sync is unaffected by cancelling. See the refund policy.
- Can I switch from Pro to Premium, or from monthly to annual?
- Yes, under Settings → Account in the app. You keep one subscription, and Paddle charges or credits the difference for the rest of the period pro rata.
- If I cancel Premium or move to Pro, what happens to files over 2 GB?
- Nothing is deleted. Everything already uploaded stays and can still be downloaded on every device; only new files stop uploading until you are back under the limit.
